Vol. 508 No. 3

Written Answers - Partnership for Peace.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

150 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if a referendum will be held on Partnership for Peace; if not, if the Government will join through legislation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18574/99]

As has been made clear on previous occasions, a referendum on this matter is not required as PfP would not be in conflict with our neutrality.

The steps involved in joining PfP were set out in response to a priority question on PfP (Ref. No. 18185/99) on 29 September. Legislation is not required to join PfP.
