Vol. 509 No. 3

Written Answers. - Clashganna Mill Trust.

John Browne

Ceist:

132 Mr. Browne (Carlow-Kilkenny) asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the amount of money, if any, spent by his Department since 1990 in promoting the Clashganna Mill Trust. [20226/99]

There has been no expenditure by my Department in promoting Clashganna Mill Trust. A grant of £640,000 was approved for the provision by the trust of accommodation under the voluntary housing capital assistance scheme in July 1987, but no application for payment was ever received from Carlow County Council, which is responsible for administering the scheme in the area. This approval was subsequently cancelled.
