255 Ms O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Health and Children if his Department has carried out the proposed assessment of medical inflation in view of increasing clinical costs in the health services; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20757/99]

In March of this year my Department submitted a paper on this subject, titled "Health Inflation: Cost Pressures within the Health Services;" to the Committee of Public Accounts for consideration. I am arranging for a copy of this paper to be supplied to the Deputy.
