352 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Education and Science the consideration, if any, his Department has given to the installation of fridges in schools to facilitate the preservation of milk, milk by-products and other types of perishable products which children utilise at schools; if he will introduce grant aid for the installation of these fridges; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Building projects that result in the provision of a home economics room; a general purpose dining area or a staff room at a second level school receive grant aid for equipment, including fridges.

It is not a priority to introduce funding for the provision of fridges at primary schools.
