Ceist:597 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Education and Science the plans, if any, he has to supply Wicklow VEC with computers in view of the fact the present stock is now obsolete. [21350/99]

My Department has received an application from County Wicklow VEC for an additional budgetary allocation towards the cost of upgrading and replacing their office computer systems. The VEC's request is being examined by my Department and will be taken into account when the vocational education committees budget for 1999 is being finalised.
