128 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands the current state of preparedness of her Department and any agencies attached to her Department with regard to year 2000; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [21904/99]
My Department is well advanced in its preparation with regard to year 2000. All fatal impact projects have been completed. The only project deemed critical and still outstanding is a single one related to a Gaeltacht client data base and I expect that this project will be finalised within the next couple of days. All marginal projects with the exception of a relatively small number of stand alone PCs, mostly at remote locations, have also been finalised. Those PCs will be year 2000 compliant by the end of this month.
All the bodies under my aegis have also been very active in this area and have indicated that they are now Y2K compliant.
