Nora Owen

Ceist:

66 Mrs. Owen asked the Taoiseach the current state of preparedness of his Department and any agencies attached to his Department with regard to year 2000; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21893/99]

While the question does not refer directly to all of the following offices, my Department and the offices of NESF and NESC, the All-Party Oireachtas Committee on the Constitution, the National Centre for Partnership, the Information Society Commission, the Attorney General, the Chief State Solicitor, the Director of Public Prosecutions, the Law Reform Commission and the Moriarty Tribunal in Dublin Castle are compliant. A small amount of work remains on non-critical systems in the Central Statistics Office and this is expected to be completed prior to any issues arising.

Contingency plans have also been prepared to ensure business continuance in the event of year 2000 problems arising.
