Vol. 510 No. 1

Written Answers. - Computer Programmes.

Nora Owen

Ceist:

104 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Finance the current state of preparedness of his Department and any agencies attached to his Department with regard to year 2000; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21900/99]

As can be seen from the following table, my Department is now year 2000 compliant, as are all but one of the offices under its remit – the Houses of the Oireachtas – where all business critical projects are compliant, but one remaining marginal impact project is being finalised. All Departments and offices continue to monitor the year 2000 situation and all but two have formal independently audited contingency plans, aimed at ensuring a smooth transition over the crucial end-of-year period. The two remaining offices are finalising their plans this month.

As regards the State-sponsored bodies under my Department's aegis, five are fully compliant. The remaining two have achieved compliance on all business critical systems and are each finalising work one marginal impact project. All seven have formal contingency plans in place.
