Vol. 510 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Pádraic McCormack

Ceist:

163 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when his Department will pay out grants for the ewe cull scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22305/99]

My Department has no proposals to pay any grants under a cull ewe scheme. However, my colleague, the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands, has proposed a scheme under which compensatory payments would be made to flockowners who were obliged to cull 30% of their flocks under the ewe supplementary measure 1998 which was operated by my Department last December. The scheme proposed by the Minister for Arts, Heritage, Gaeltacht and the Islands is awaiting approval by the EU Commission.

Michael Finucane

Ceist:

164 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a farm installation grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick. [22317/99]

A payment under the scheme of installation aid in this case will issue within the next two weeks.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

165 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive 1999 sheep headage. [22318/99]

The 1999 area aid application of the person named was randomly selected for inspection. This inspection has taken place and the application can now be finally processed. Any payments due will issue as quickly as possible.
