Vol. 510 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Jimmy Deenihan

Ceist:

167 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when sheep headage will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22355/99]

Payment of the 1999 sheep headage grant was made to the person named on 3 November 1999. Payment of the second advance of the 1999 ewe premium was made on 20 October 1999.

Michael Moynihan

Ceist:

168 Mr. M. Moynihan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a decision will be made on an application by a person (details supplied) in County Cork for a control of farmyard pollution grant. [22406/99].

The application made under the national control of farm pollution scheme in this case was returned to the applicant requesting required details on 21 July 1999. A decision regarding eligibility will be made on return of the completed application form.

Jim Higgins

Ceist:

169 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason a claimant (details supplied) in County Mayo has not yet received headage payment. [22413/99]

The person named submitted 28.48 hectares on his 1999 area aid application form. Following processing of his application an area of 26.88 hectares was determined which is 1.60 hectares or 5.95% less than that applied for.

Under article 9 of EU Regulation 3887/92, no penalty is applied when the difference is less than 3%, the penalty is based on double the difference when it is between 3% and 20% and when the difference is over 20%, a 100% penalty must be applied.

Therefore, in this case, a penalty of 3.20 hectares has to be applied leaving the area determined for payment at 23.68 hectares. Any payments due will issue as soon as possible.

Willie Penrose

Ceist:

170 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason area aid due to a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath has not been made; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the delay in paying it is due to a error made by his Department in the digitisation of the plot numbers furnished; if he will ensure that this payment is made immediately; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22435/99]

The person named claimed a new plot of land on his 1999 area aid application. He did not, however, submit a map showing the location of this additional land. The area aid unit of my Department has written to the person named requesting the map in question. This application cannot be processed further until the map is received.
