Written Answers. - Garda Stations.
The Commissioners of Public Works are actively seeking a site for a Garda station at Ballina. They have recently made a final offer for a site and expect a reply from the vendor in the very near future. If this offer is not accepted, the commissioners will consider all other options with a view to providing a new Garda station as soon as possible.

The Garda station at Ballinrobe continues to operate from a rented building. It is proposed to build a new area headquarters on the site of the old Garda station and married quarters. A sketch scheme for the new building will be prepared when all of the projects which have been accorded higher priority by the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform and the Garda authorities have been attended to.
