Vol. 510 No. 3

Written Answers. - Planning Regulations.

Tony Gregory

Ceist:

361 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will ensure that the accommodation sought by his Department, as advertised in Sunday newspapers on 31 October 1999, will have the appropriate planning permission before being considered for the purposes outlined. [22289/99]

It is the Government's intention that asylum seekers will be allocated to accommodation offered, in co-operation with the local authorities and other agencies who are competent to assess relevant matters, including the need for planning permission, if appropriate.

I have no function in ensuring with planning regulations.
