99 Mr. Callely asked the Taoiseach the amount and value of beef, pigmeat, poultry and sheepmeat imported; the names of the importing companies for each year from 1990 to date in each category; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22453/99]

The Taoiseach

The latest month for which information is available is June 1999. The following tables show the value and volume of meat imports for the years 1990 to 1998 and for the six month period January-June 1999. Company details are strictly confidential and are not divulged by the Central Statistics Office. This is in accordance with national and international law governing statistical confidentiality.
