Vol. 510 No. 3

Written Answers. - Ministerial Appointments.

Bernard Allen

Ceist:

101 Mr. Allen asked the Taoiseach the number of appointments to State boards made by him since taking office; if he will give details of each appointment; and the annual payments made to each appointee. [22541/99]

I have not made any appointments to State boards since taking office. However, nominations to the National Millennium Committee made by the Minister of State at the Department of the Taoiseach, Deputy Brennan, were approved by myself and the Tánaiste. The members are not in receipt of any remuneration.

The bodies under the aegis of the Department of the Taoiseach are: the National Economic and Social Council, the National Economic and Social Forum, the National Statistics Board, the National Centre for Partnership, the Information Society Commission, the Law Reform Commission and the National Millennium Committee.

Appointments to State boards of the bodies listed above are made by Government with the exception of the National Statistics Board where appointments are made by the Minister of State at the Department of the Taoiseach, Deputy Brennan.
