206 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science the reason an agreement to complete repairs and refurbishment of Moate Business College, Moate, County Westmeath, has not been honoured; and the timescale to have these necessary works completed. [22977/99]
An application for repair and refurbishment of Moate Business College is being processed. A consultant architect was appointed to progress this matter in February of this year.
A request to expand the scope of the project was received from the managerial authorities of the school, which has been considered by officials within my Department. As this revised proposal requires an application for planning permission and a fire safety certificate, my officials in conjunction with the managerial authorities and the consultant architect have agreed to proceed with the more urgent proposals at this stage.
