Ceist:

54 Ms Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will request An Bord Altranais to carry out a full review of the case of a person (details supplied), an independent home birth midwife, in view of the judgment lifting the injunction against her by the President of the High Court on 17 May 1999 stating that it was incumbent on the incoming board to review her case. Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Cowen):

I have been informed by the chief executive officer of An Bord Altranais that both parties to the case referred to by the Deputy have appealed to the Supreme Court against the judgment of the High Court. In these circumstances, the Deputy will appreciate that it would be wholly inappropriate for me to make any comment in relation to the case.
