I propose to take Questions Nos. 51 and 134 together.
The number of applications for work permits issued and refused by my Department in the past two years, on a month by month basis, is set out in the following table. My Department does not maintain statistics in relation to cases pending on this basis but it can be taken that up to 1,000 cases may be on hands at any one time.
