Vol. 512 No. 6

Written Answers. - Orthodontic Service.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

284 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo is not receiving orthodontic treatment. [27052/99]

As the provision of dental treatment for eligible persons in Mayo is the statutory responsibility of the Western Health Board in the first instance, I have asked the chief executive officer of the Western Health Board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.

Denis Naughten

Ceist:

285 Mr. Naughten asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon has to wait three years for orthodontic treatment at Merlin Park Regional Hospital, Galway; the plans, if any, he has to reduce this waiting time; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27053/99]

As the provision of orthodontic treatment for eligible persons in Roscommon is the statutory responsibility of the Western Health Board in the first instance, I have asked the chief executive officer of the Western Health Board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly as a matter of urgency.
