208 Ms Cooper-Flynn asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if a Land Registry application will be expedited for a person (details supplied) in County Mayo in view of the fact it has been outstanding for some time. [2729/00]
I am informed by the Registrar of Titles that this application refers to a section 49 application, i.e. acquisition of title by virtue of long possession, of the Registration of Titles Act, 1964, which was lodged on 16 December 1996.
I understand that due to their complicated nature, applications under section 49, which require detailed examination of claims for registration as owners, can take some time to process. Accordingly, although it is not possible to estimate a precise completion date for the application concerned at this stage, I can say that the application is being mapped at present and will be completed without delay.
