193 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children the position on the Ballinrobe nursing home, County Mayo; the sites examined by Department officials; if the possibility of using the old Christian Brothers' school has been examined; if so, the outcome of the examination; if his Department is negotiating with the parish priest for property; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Western Health Board has indicated that the provision of a community nursing unit in Ballinrobe, County Mayo is one of its priorities as part of the development of services for older people in the region. In this connection, the board is examining a number of options for siting the unit, including the location referred to by the Deputy. This proposal will be considered in the context of capital funding available under the national development plan and the Western Health Board's other priority developments.
