Tax revenue from cigarettes and other tobacco products consists of excise duty and value added tax. I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that the revenue yields in question in 1998 and 1999 were as follows:

The VAT element in these figures is estimated because VAT returns are not completed in a manner which enables yield from particular goods to be identified.
