333 Ms O'Sullivan asked the Minister for Education and Science if a decision has been made on the proposal submitted to the Higher Education Authority on the establishment of a centre for deaf studies; if not, when a decision is expected; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6083/00]

The Higher Education Authority is finalising its examination of the proposal to establish a centre for deaf studies at Trinity College Dublin. The authority has consulted with various interests in the field and I understand that it expects to complete its examination in the very near future.
