Vol. 515 No. 3

Written Answers. - Schools Funding.

John McGuinness

Ceist:

334 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the worsening financial circumstances of Newtown-Dunleckney primary school, Newtown, Bagenalstown, County Carlow; if the Department has issued any response to the appeal from the board of management for assistance; and if he will arrange for an official to visit the school to determine the position and agree a course of action. [6084/00]

My Department has recently received correspondence from a member of the board of management in relation to the above school's financial circumstances. This correspondence is currently being considered by officials within the primary administration section of my Department in Athlone and a response will issue to the school board of management in the near future.
