Ceist:

44 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the level of afforestation grants available to farmers who wish to plant their land in the Cavan and Monaghan areas; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [7110/00]

Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources (Mr. Fahey):

Following discussions with the European Commission in Brussels, significant increases of over 30% in afforestation grant and premium levels were announced and published this week. These increases apply throughout the country.
