90 Mr. Kenny asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources the extent of works to be carried out on the sea wall and dune protection at Elly Bay, Belmullet, County Mayo; when he expects works to commence; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9778/00]
I have approved grant aid of 75% up to a maximum of £97,500 for Mayo County Council for repairs to the sea wall and dune protection works at Elly Bay. The local authority's acceptance of this offer of financial assistance is awaited.
It is envisaged the works will be undertaken for Mayo County Council by my Department commencing in the second half of this year.
