Vol. 518 No. 3

Written Answers. - Special Educational Needs.

Jim O'Keeffe

Ceist:

315 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has received the necessary reports and completed his consideration of them to enable him to sanction the special class for children with autism and communication difficulties at the boys' national school in Skibbereen, County Cork; and if he will confirm approval for the appointment of a teacher and classroom assistants. [11681/00]

My Department has received a report from its inspectorate in recent days in relation to the establishment of a special class in the school referred to by the Deputy.

The inspector's report is now under active consideration and my Department will be in touch with the school authorities shortly.
