Written Answers. - School Accommodation.

Paul Connaughton

Ceist:

316 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Education and Science when grant aid will be made available to St. Cuan's secondary school, Castleblakney, Ballinasloe, County Galway, for the provision of a science laboratory and an extension to the school building; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11682/00]

An application has been received from the managerial authorities of St. Cuan's secondary school seeking additional accommodation.

In advance of making a decision in respect of this application my Department is assessing the long-term enrolment of this school. This matter will be addressed as quickly as possible.

Willie Penrose

Ceist:

317 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Education and Science the level of additional accommodation that will be provided at Curraghmore National School, Mullingar, County Westmeath; the additional facilities to be provided to cope with the increasing numbers at this school; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [11710/00]

My Department is dealing with this case as quickly as possible having regard to the large number of school building projects on hand within the planning and building unit. The school authorities will be informed, in due course, of my Department's decision regarding the level of accommodation to be provided at the school.
