203 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reasons the parents of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny are expected to pay for DMSA scans in view of the fact that they are medical card holders and not in a position to continue to pay this cost. [14332/00]

Minister for Health and Children (Mr. Martin):

The provision of medical services in this instance is the responsibility of the South Eastern Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
