114 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance his policy regarding the provision of the previously promised Garda Station at Leixlip, County Kildare; his intention to provide the facility as promised; the nature of any discussions he has had with other agencies and-or Government departments in relation to this issue; if he will now state a precise time scale for the implementation of previously stated policy; and if he will make a statement on the matter. It is intended to provide a new Garda station in Leixlip.

The Office of Public Works has encountered considerable difficulty over a long period in securing a suitable site for the development.

Two sites are currently under consideration but both are subject to difficulties which must be resolved before they could be considered suitable. Everything possible is being done to progress the matter to the earliest possible conclusion.
