Vol. 521 No. 6

Written Answers. - Local Authority Housing.

Seymour Crawford

Ceist:

105 Mr. Crawford asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the steps he has taken to rectify the anomaly where low income families are being forced to pay a fixed interest rate on county council loans because they signed up for these loans many years ago and are not in a financial position to get mortgage support elsewhere; when measures will be introduced in view of the fact the Government made a commitment in December 1999 to deal with this issue; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17811/00]

I refer to the reply to Questions Nos. 11 and 47 of 6 April 2000. The position has not changed.
