An age by duration analysis of the live register is compiled by the CSO twice per year, in respect of April and October, from information supplied by the Department of Social, Community and Family Affairs. The latest figures are in respect of April 2000. The following table sets out the number of short-term and long-term claimants in County Mayo in April 1999, October 1999 and April 2000:
