Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.
The planning section of my Department is currently examining the need for a new primary school in the area referred to by the Deputy. The examination is focusing on the growth in popu lation as a result of significant housing developments in the area and the capacity of existing schools to meet future needs.

Ceist:191 Ms Clune asked the Minister for Education and Science if he has received representations from a group (details supplied) in County Cork regarding the use of portacabins in the grounds of Ringmahon House, County Cork previously used by Gaelscoil Mhachan; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23752/00]
The prefabs referred to by the Deputy are currently being used by Gaelscoil Mhachan and will be required until the new school building is occupied.
My Department will give further consideration to the matter as soon as the prefabs become available.
