53 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Finance if it is the policy of the Government that the chief executive officers of commercial State-sponsored bodies be appointed to the board of directors of such bodies; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23436/00]
Policy with regard to the appointment of chief executive officers of commercial State-sponsored bodies to the board of directors is in the first instance the responsibility of the appropriate Minister.
In so far as commercial State bodies under my auspices – Agricultural Credit Corporation and the Industrial Credit Corporation – are concerned, my Department's policy is that the chief executive officers should be on the board of the companies and the chief executive officers are, in fact, members of the board.
