97 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo has not received his REP scheme payment in view of the fact that Dúchas have confirmed that he has not damaged the Kilglassan special area of conservation. [23778/00]
Following an on farm inspection the person named was notified of a penalty in excess of 100% which would result in no payment being made for the relevant year in REPS. The applicant has lodged an appeal locally against the penalty including material from Dúchas in support of his appeal. This appeal is at present under consideration. The person named will be notified directly of the outcome of his appeal.
