Written Answers. - Gaeltacht Grants.
My Department has received an application under Scéim na mBóithre Áise – accommodation roads scheme – in respect of the road referred to by the Deputy. The funds provided under Scéim na mBóithre Áise for 2000 have already been allocated. However, the application will be taken into account when applications under the scheme are again being considered.

Ceist:353 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be approved for a Gaeltacht house grant for heating. [26392/00]
There is no record in my Department of an application for assistance under the Housing (Gaeltacht) Acts from the person named. An application form has now been issued to that person and on receipt of the completed application, the case will be examined as quickly as possible.

Ceist:354 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands if, further to parliamentary Question No. 335 of 14 November 2000, she will indicate the officials from Cork County Council that were met regarding Gaeltacht roads; and the specific Gaeltacht roads which are under consideration for funding in 2001. I, together with officials of my Department, recently met with the following officials of Cork County Council: assistant county manager; county engineer; divisional engineer – west; two senior executive engineers; and four executive engineers. The meeting was in relation to the preparation of a programme of works for the year 2001 and subsequent years for the improvement of strategic Gaeltacht roads and also to have initial discussions on other schemes administered by my Department.
The roads being considered for funding in 2001 are the Baile Mhic Íre-Reidh na nDoirí road and the Inse Geimhleach-Céim an Fhia road within the Gaeltacht area.
