348 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands the current position in relation to the Moore Hall restoration project; the progress made arising from the feasibility study which was commissioned by her Department in this matter; if she will further state the plans her Department has to restore Moore Hall, Ballyglass, Claremorris, County Mayo; and if she will make a statement on the matter. My Department has commissioned a structural survey on Moore Hall which will also assess the cost of consolidating it. My Department expects this report to be completed in early 2001. This information will assist the local community in the preparation of a full business plan for the Moore Hall restoration project.
I am sure that the Deputy will appreciate that until the information being sought through the survey is to hand and the local community's full business plan has been received and considered, it is not possible for me to comment on further State involvement in Moore Hall at this stage.
