Vol. 526 No. 6

Written Answers. - Stardust Tribunal.

Richard Bruton

Ceist:

354 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the way in which existing tribunals or past tribunals of compensation such as the Stardust tribunal, handled the issues of legal representation of claimants, arrangements for appeal where the level of award is disputed, and right of application for compensation by next of kin of a deceased person; if caps were placed either on individual awards or the total value of awards; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27311/00]

I am arranging to forward to the Deputy, under separate cover, a copy of the scheme of compensation for personal injuries suffered at the Stardust, Artane on 14 February 1981, as laid before each House of the Oireachtas on 22 October 1985 and a copy of the scheme of compensation for personal injuries criminally inflicted, as amended, as laid before each House of the Oireachtas in March 1986.
