Written Answers. - Health Services.

Willie Penrose

Ceist:

95 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will outline the help that would be available from the Midland Health Board and his Department to assist a person (details supplied) in County Westmeath who is virtually an invalid and wishes to return to her own home; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27859/00]

The provision of health services in the County Westmeath area is a matter for the Midland Health Board.

I have asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate this case and respond to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.

96 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Health and Children the amount of funding which had been allocated by the Midland Health Board to the Carer's Association for infrastructural works and provision in the Midland Health Board area, for each of the years 1998, 1999 and to date in 2000; the financial provision which has been allocated to the carer's resource centre, at the Shopping Centre, Mullingar, County Westmeath, which has been opened for over a year; if the necessary funding has been made available; if not, the reason; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [27860/00]

The provision of health services in the Westmeath area is a matter for the Midland Health Board.

The information requested by the Deputy is not a matter of course compiled by my Department. I have asked the chief executive officer of the board to have the details requested forwarded to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
