97 Ms Coughlan asked the Taoiseach the labour force statistics for the Finn Valley area of County Donegal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28346/00]

The definitive source of data on the labour force is the quarterly national household survey. However, regional authority area is the most detailed geographic level at which data from the survey is published.

The small area dimension is catered for by the census of population from which the following table is taken in respect of 1996.
Population aged 15 years and over in certain areas in County Donegal by labour force status, 1996.
