Vol. 527 No. 4

Written Answers. - Asylum Support Services.

Richard Bruton

Ceist:

170 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if the report that the Mosney Camp is to be used for accommodating asylum seekers is accurate; and if so, if alter native arrangements have been made to facilitate the holding of the Community Games. [28936/00]

The Directorate for Asylum Support Services which is responsible, inter alia, for meeting the accommodation needs of asylum seekers propose to use part of Mosney holiday centre to accommodate asylum seekers.

The making available of any of the balance of the facilities at Mosney holiday centre to ESB community games is a matter in the first instance for the proprietor of the centre. At their request, I am meeting with representatives of ESB community games on 7 December when I will explore with them what support I can give to facilitating the continuation of the games in Mosney.
