169 Ms Coughlan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the amount of direct payments issued by his Department to date in 2000 under the various premium, headage and other support schemes; if he will provide a breakdown of the payments made for each county; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Since 1 January 2000 over £712 million has been paid to farmers under the various headage and premium schemes. A breakdown of this amount on a county by county basis, as requested, is shown on the following table.
