Vol. 528 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Ceist:

81 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive cattle and sheep headage for 1998 and to date in 2000. [30223/00]

The 2000 area aid application for the person named was selected for an on the ground inspection, and was found to be in order. The 2000 area aid application for the person named has now been fully processed with no outstanding errors, and the area for payment purposes has been determined at 39.97 hectares. The person named was paid £880 under the 2000 sheep headage scheme on 13 December 2000 and he is due a balancing payment of £364 under that scheme which will be paid shortly. He was not an applicant under the 2000 cattle headage scheme.

As stated in my reply to Parliamentary Question No. 181 of 23 March 2000, payment of the 1999 sheep headage including top-up was made to the person named on 2 February 2000. He was not an applicant under the 1999 cattle headage scheme.

The person named has still not responded to queries from the area aid unit in regard to his 1998 area aid application, but the results of the 2000 area aid inspection have been used in the processing of his 1998 area aid application. The 1998 area aid application for the person named has now been fully processed with no outstanding errors, and the area for payment purposes has been determined at 40.90 hectares. Any headage payments due will issue as soon as possible.
