Ceist:

1042 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the total number of people deported during 1989 and 1999 respectively on foot of deportation orders; the number within these totals deported under the Dublin Convention; the total number of people deported in each month of the year 2000 on foot of a deportation order; the number of deportees within each monthly total who had applied for and were refused refugee status; and the number of persons deported under the Dublin Convention. [1824/01]

In 1989 two people were deported on foot of deportation orders and the total number in 1999 was six. Of that six, one was deported under the Dublin Convention. In 2000 the total number of deportees was 187. The breakdown per month is as follows:
