I recently obtained the approval of the Government for the drafting of amendments to the Garda Síochána (Admissions and Appointments) Regulations, 1988, to provide, inter alia, for the abolition of the height requirement for entry to the Garda Síochána. The amending regulations are being drafted by my Department.
