Vol. 530 No. 6

Written Answers. - Heritage Site.

Liam Aylward

Ceist:

338 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands when it is intended to have works completed on Dunmore Caves, County Kilkenny; when the caves will be re-opened; and if she will arrange to have the signs reinstalled indicating that the caves are closed. [4611/01]

The works at Dunmore Caves are due to be completed in June 2001 when the site will re-open for visitors with an expanded facility that includes a tea room and an enlarged exhibition. Approach signs to the cave had been removed and new ones will be erected before the opening. There is a notice at the entrance to the site stating that the caves are closed due to works.
