John McGuinness

Ceist:

151 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands the steps she will take to relieve the flooding at Clara Castle, Clare, County Kilkenny; if a programme of works has been agreed to protect the castle; and, if so, when work will commence in this regard. [5255/01]

The works required to alleviate the flooding at Clara Castle, County Kilkenny, will involve placing a culvert under the access path to link to drainage provided by the county council. This work has been agreed with the county engineer and will be carried out during March 2001.
