Vol. 531 No. 2

Written Answers. - State Property.

Noel Ahern

Ceist:

158 Mr. N. Ahern asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the body which is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the two ponds on State property (details supplied) in Dublin 9; and if he arrange inspection and maintenance in this regard. [5305/01]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that there are two ponds on the grounds at Santry Garda station. The larger of the two ponds is at the front of the station at the junction of Shanowen Road and Shanliss Road. This pond, which is set in a landscaped garden, is maintained by garden contractors.

The smaller pond, which faces Shanowen Road, is within the perimeter of the Talbot Complex and is currently under the control of the building contractors operating there. Access to this pond has not been possible since the building work has started. This pond will be repaired, cleaned and maintained on completion of the building work.
