Vol. 531 No. 2

Written Answers. - Dublin-Monaghan Bombings.

Tony Gregory

Ceist:

159 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform when the recommendations set out in the Victims Commission report will be implemented, specifically as they relate to the relatives and victims of the Dublin-Monaghan bombings in 1974. [5185/01]

The report of the Victims Commission recommended, as regards the Dublin-Monaghan bombings, that a retired Supreme Court judge should be appointed to conduct an independent inquiry. In accordance with this recommendation, a commission of inquiry was established, with Judge Liam Hamilton as the sole member. On the death of Judge Hamilton, Judge Henry Barron was appointed sole member. The work of the commission of inquiry is continuing.
