Ceist:19 Mr. Higgins (Mayo) asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when the necessary funding will be made available by his Department for the upgrading of the sewage treatment plant at Cong, County Mayo. [1385/01]
Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.
This scheme has been approved for funding under the rural towns and villages initiative. I approved funding to allow work start on the mechanical and electrical works last month. Mayo County Council's tender recommendation for the civil works contract was submitted to my Department earlier this week and will be dealt with as quickly as possible. Following approval of the civil works tender recommendation, the council will be free to proceed with the scheme.
