Vol. 531 No. 3

Written Answers. - Residential Centres.

Dan Neville

Ceist:

261 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will respond to the social services inspectorate report on the Tallaght residential centre; and the number of children in the centre at present. [5927/01]

On receipt of the report referred to by the Deputy the South Western Area Health Board was immediately contacted for an urgent detailed plan to address the various recommendations in the report. A comprehensive report was subsequently received outlining the steps the board was taking to implement the recommendations.

The social services inspectorate has arranged to reinspect the centre on 28 February 2001 to ensure that the necessary follow up action has been taken.

There are currently three children living in the centre.
